It has been an exciting time for models in New York City! Two different apps have launched and are in full swing; Into and Neon Coat. Fashion models can now get heavily discounted dinners, haircuts, work out classes, and much more. These apps help models, who are new in town, connect with fellow models, even make new friendships, and fully enjoy the city.

Into as well as Neon Coat accepts female and male models. Once you’ve downloaded the free apps,  follow the application instructions. You will need to prove that you have a social media following, as well as a model agency in town. To use these apps, you claim a featured business, tag them, and then post about your experience with the business on your Instagram.

Both apps have wonderful parties during Fashion Week, and help the models in town by giving goodie bags, food, and work out or meditation sessions. Being billed as a model’s passport to everything, you surely won’t be disappointed checking them out!

Into
During last season’s fashion week, Into had an influencer lounge at the Norwood Club here in New York. The Into App is for influencers around the world, and they also offer a London Fashion Week lounge as well. What makes the app great is that it works in many major fashion cities, and offers really cool deals.

Into hosted two days of events that featured food, fitness, beauty, and wellness.  My favorite products they partnered with were Winky Lux, because it is a makeup brand,  a new deodorant company called Myro, homesick candles, and Milo face oils.

One of the activities included a lunch offered by a local vegan restaurant called Le Botaniste. The lucky attendees were given great goodie bags to take home, that included delicious food products.

It was a great way to meet people,  relax, charge your phone, and get to know new products that are out on the market.

Neon Coat
One of the best things during the craziness of fashion week is that Neon Coat holds different events and parties to go to every day. These are great ways to meet new models and make new friends in the city!

Last season, Neon Coat events lasted for nine days, the season before that was just seven. So there was a lot to see and to do – here are just some of the examples:

*Recharge Lounge and Lunch, which included a special Neon Coat gift bag full of great products and food. It was the perfect swag bag to help us models during fashion week.

*Exclusive Neon Coat Yoga Classes, Chill Day with Mamacha, Meditation at Three Jewels with Kombucha.

*Chill Sunday events with Bumble BFF.

*Sundays nail salon.

*Food events with Beyond Sushi (vegan sushi), ice cream companies and more!

*Neon Coat exclusive workout classes and infrared sauna sessions.

*Recharge lounge time with My/Mo Mochi Shea Terra organics (beauty products).

*Lunch event provided by local restaurant, Hunts and Fish club.

*Evening parties such as the Guardian Angels Charity Party, and the Wrap party for NYFW.

I highly suggest downloading the Neon Coat app when you start working with your agency in New York because they have amazing offers that will make your experience so much more exciting. It will also be very interesting to see what they do this upcoming fashion week!

Streetwear Rules Spring Summer 2019 In NYC

By Robyn Williamson

@robynwilliamson

Streetwear took over the New York Spring Summer 2019 runways this show season. Contributor and model, Robyn Williamson highlights her favorite collections.

Just In XX (Fashion Week Online) C+plus SERIES (Vrai Magazine) Semir x C.J. Yao (Now Fashion) Taoray Wang (Vrai Magazine)

Taoray Wang
This was such a beautifully put together show and probably my favorite that I saw! I loved the pops of pink, and I thought the clothes were very wearable and timeless pieces. The collection was named “Bloom” a symbol of the flowers that grow underwater, in the depths of the coldest tundra and through the narrowest cracks of the sidewalk. Strong and delicate, she always finds her way.

Just In XX
Taiwanese streetwear designer, Justin Yu-Ying Chou believes that “beauty should not be constrained to one standard.” I saw a lot of streetwear this season, and Just In xx was no exception! The runway was very diverse, and I loved the stripes he had in his collection.

Semir x C.J. Yao
More streetwear and comfy clothes! I really liked the hair in this show, and the models looked like they had a blast. I thought the silver and red really stood out, and the rain jackets were fun.

C Plus Series
From designer C.T. Liu who hails from Taiwan, C plus Series explores the concept of simplicity without over-complicating. This was streetwear but seemed elevated. Not as sporty as the rest I saw. A lot of outfits this season were paired with sneakers on the runway. I am kind of glad as I run around New York a lot, and I prefer to wear running shoes myself! Textures, blazers, neutrals and shimmery shredded dresses. For the women who work in the urban jungle.

Summer Beauty Trends 2018

Everything we need to know about summer beauty 2018.

Vie photographed by Max Abadian for ELLE Canada

Every summer we love to look more beautiful, with a glowing and hydrated face and body. Golden and bronze shades, earthy tones and exotic scents are the musts of every summer. But, what about this summer’s beauty trends?

MAKE UP

URBAN DECAY Disco Queen Holographic Disco Highlighter Stick

For this summer’s makeup, you must be brave and get lost in the magic and mystery of makeup art. Colors are bright, exotic with an ultra-touch texture. The unicorn trend is still going strong, with a wide range of holographic makeup products. Loud and waterproof eyeliners promise to give a bold and bright look, even at the beach.

DIOR Diorshow On Stage Liner

THE NATURAL GLOW

But, let’s not forget that the nude look is always in favor during the summertime – much like florals are for a spring wardrobe. Eyeshadows and lipsticks in such hues can offer a healthy, natural-looking bronzed glow for every skin tone. While talking about that glow, many beauty brands have created key face and body products this summer. Offering an iridescent, warm, eye-catching glow with hues of bronze, gold and rose gold, when applied to the skin.

SUMMER SCENTS

DIOR Escale à Portofino

Summertime prefers more sheer, and transparent scents. Colognes are back with a fresher spritz-weight for a lighter aroma and a longer lasting eau de parfum strength. Citrus based notes are a gentler and more elegant approach.

SUN PROTECTION

Of course, we should never forget to wear our sunscreen protection. Face and body sunscreen is always the big summer trend we should never neglect since it keeps us healthy and looking beautiful under the bright summer sun.

The Great Influence Of Kate Spade

Three things that made Kate Spade an all-time classic designer.

Kate Spade (Photo: CNBC/Andrew Toth/ Getty Images)

The sudden death of Kate Spade (aged 55) on the 5th of June was a great shock to the fashion world. Since the inception of her brand, the famous accessories designer greatly impacted the fashion industry by offering fashion lovers unique, and affordable pieces. It was 1993 when Spade founded her label with the vision of creating the perfect handbag, along with signature characteristics that made her brand very special.

Kate Spade created accessories that were about affordability and accessibility. One of the brand’s best sellers is the all-time classic Sam handbag which is priced no more than 200 dollars.

Spade’s designs came in bright colors and interesting prints. No matter if you were wearing them or just looking at them, they’d always brighten your mood. Spade’s brand was also the first to use nylon and establish “Nylon Chic.”

Every woman wants a black classic handbag and Kate Spade designed the first timeless and reasonably priced handbag that can match almost every outfit, from a pair of jeans to a cocktail dress.

Kate Spade will be missed for her cheerful and positive attitude. The legacy she has left behind is priceless, and hopefully, the breath of fresh air her accessories offered will not be lost or forgotten.

The End Of Warhol’s Unconventional Magazine

By Katerina Stamatopoulou, MA Fashion Journalism Academy of Art University

@katrinst

An end of an era. The historic Interview magazine, founded by Andy Warhol in 1969, has closed down.

Interview magazine was one of the most famous arts and culture publications of downtown New York for the last 50 years. Back in its glory days, Interview was nicknamed as the “Crystal Ball of Pop”. David Bowie, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Cher were just a few names who became covers of this cultural talking piece.

Madonna, June 1990 (Photo: Interviewmagazine.com)

Peter Brant was the owner of the glossy magazine since 1989. The bad news of the magazine’s folding came out this week after facing a series of financial and legal issues. According to Page Six, Fabien Baron, the former editorial director, and his wife, the stylist Ludivine Poiblanc, filed a lawsuit against the magazine earlier this month claiming more than $600,000 for consulting and styling work. But the magazine’s problems didn’t end there. Karl Templer, the creative director of the magazine, was also accused of sexual misconduct. In February, Interview was kicked out of its luxurious Soho offices since the landlords were not receiving the rent checks.

This avant-garde publication has repeatedly monopolized the interest of its readers with its sophisticated covers. Even the most recent ones, such as the September 2017 issue, illustrating Kim Kardashian as Jackie Kennedy photographed by Steven Klein.

The magazine had iconic status. Interview was featured in the CW’s television series The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to HBO’s Sex and the City, where the young Carrie Bradshaw leaves her small town in Connecticut to get a full-time job at Interview, in New York City.

“I tell everyone they can be on the cover of Interview,” once said Andy Warhol to the late editor Glenn O’Brien. Indeed, many did. But, what about now? How will the rest of us get our cover?

Beauties Of The Cannes Film Festival 2018

Cinema and fashion stars turned the red carpet into a catwalk at the Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes, France. –  The Cannes Film Festival, one of the greatest celebrations of the Seventh Art, never fails to highlight the close relationship between cinema and fashion, and this year was exceptional. Once again, the stars won the flash of photographers on the red carpet with their ensembles fit for royalty.

Undoubtedly, Cate Blanchett claimed the primacy of the best dressed. This year’s President wore a stunning custom-made creation by the Greek designer, Mary Katrantzou. The look was completed with Chopard rings and Aquazzura Eclipse gold pumps.

Even some models preferred not to succumb to the temptation of a statement ‘body-con’ dress and chose an elegant creation instead. Bella Hadid was the perfect example in her pink strapless custom-made Dior gown. The only exception was Kendall Jenner who isn’t afraid to take fashion risks, and most of the time she gets many credits for her choices. The 22-year-old model appeared on the red carpet wearing a green dress with gold details which highlighted her toned body. The “leave nothing to the imagination” dress was from Alexandre Vauthier’s fall 2016 collection, the black satin pumps by Christian Louboutin, and the jewelry by Chopard.

A few years ago, the Festival’s protocol was intensely discussed because it required female stars to wear high heels on the red carpet. But, for 2018, Marion Cotillard broke the rules with an unlikely appearance, wearing Nicholas Kirkwood flat boots. She chose to coordinate them with her midi dress, and managed to create a stunning rock outfit. Chanel sunglasses and bracelets completed her look.

However, another movie star partially broke etiquette guidelines. Kristen Stewart arrived on the red carpet for the film BlacKkKlansman, wearing a metallic mini dress and high-heeled Louboutins. Just before she reached the stairs, she decided to release her feet from the high-heels and walk barefoot.

Every year, Fashion For Relief, the annual charity gala hosted by Naomi Campbell, is high on the list of events for stars who attend Cannes. The famous supermodel invites powerful business moguls, athletes, Hollywood stars and all the models that are at the forefront, for an evening of fashion, and to raise money for environmental and humanitarian organizations around the world. On the catwalk, the hostess of the gala walked with other famous names of the fashion industry and show business. Earlier that day, Naomi announced her “retirement” since, as she said, she is 47 years old and the years she has had on the catwalks are too many.

SAVAGE X FENTY: A Hymn to Body Positivity by #badgalriri

Rihanna continues her success in the fashion industry by dropping a lingerie collection for all body types.

Savage x Fenty collage by Katerina Stamatopoulou.

“Didn’t they tell you?” posted Rihanna on her Instagram account mid-April. The caption appeared underneath a zoomed-in, ultra-sexy photo of her wearing a peachy pink bra. It was a really enigmatic photo that raised a lot of speculation.

After notable collaborations with fashion and beauty brands, such as Manolo Blahnik, Dior, Puma, and MAC, she decided to create her own beauty line. FENTY beauty by Rihanna was successfully launched last fall, catering to all skin tones and types. But, now she surprises us with a new lingerie line, Savage x Fenty. It is scheduled to launch on May 11th. Rihanna has become a legitimate fashion and beauty mogul who believes that all women should love their bodies. Her brands are proof, and lots of her fans truly appreciate this.

savages come in all shapes and sizes!! ya ready? @savagexfenty MAY.11.2018

A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on

Audrey Ritchie, a plus size model, recently showed up in a short video on RiRi’s Instagram account, wearing Savage x Fenty lingerie to give the viewer a sneak peek of what to expect.

Like FENTY Beauty, it appears to encompass all types of women. Besides the colors and the design of the collection, what matters the most is the wide range of sizes from XS to 3XL. Savage x Fenty will be more accessible, and the women who choose to wear it will feel comfortable and confident no matter her body shape.

But, is there a woman who wouldn’t feel beautiful and sexy wearing sensual lingerie and embracing her body just as it is?

Best Looks From Coachella

The famous music festival elevated to new heights with both performances and fashion.

Coachella 2018,Getty Images.

Celebrities and stars set aside their intense program for a while and headed to sunny Palm Springs to enjoy relaxed moments infused with music. While many famous models and bloggers have already filled the Instagram feed with amazing photos from the Coachella Festival, they also paired the most beautiful outfits with the latest fashion trends.

It’s no surprise that many celebrities had the chicest fashion items in their suitcases since the festival’s style is one of the main attractions, after the headlining performances.

Household names such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Slick Woods, Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski, and many Victoria’s Secret models wore unique looks at the festival. Eye-popping color palettes with colorful wigs and make-up, a lot of sparkle, and braids. Apart from the Coachella essentials, like gladiator sandals, fringed jackets and slip dresses, the protagonists of this year were waist bags and combat boots.

  • Allesandra Ambrosio

But, who runs the Coachella fashion world? Queen Bey, of course! In both sets, she mastered the Balmain look while raising the bar at Coachella to epic heights with her performances. Bejeweled bodices, high-cut denim shorts with cropped college-style hoodies, full PVC ensembles and an Egyptian goddess cape made a lot of jaws drop.
